After being in development for what seemed like an eternity (to Twitch fans), the Twitch streaming app finally was released for Xbox LIVE. It requires a Gold account status, and allows you to stream “300 of the most popular channels”, sorted by game and popularity.

Twitch is one of the largest platforms for the live streaming of games, with more than 800,000 people streaming gameplay and over 34 million people watching online at Twitch.tv. And now, with the Twitch for Xbox LIVE app, Gold subscribers in the U.S. will have access to 300 of the most popular streams from the service. Users can view top channels by popularity or individual game and the dashboard features curated channels, tournaments and shows happening now.
