So many fans are looking forward to the E3 2015 in June. And if new rumors are true, it looks like a major “Gears of War 4” release date update will be unveiled at the event.
For a time, fans of the highly anticipated game have worried that the new installment will just be a reboot. However, Xbox exec Phil Spencer clarified rumors and reassured waiting fans that the upcoming release will be worth the wait.
“I wouldn’t call it a reboot, because I don’t think the franchise necessarily needs that,” he explained to Game Spot.
“I think we can make sure that we’re investing in this thing for the next decade, which is how I want to think about it. The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in. I think the story and the setting and what they’re going through in a Gears of War-the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We’ve got to get back to that. The feeling of those individuals.”
Meanwhile, apart from the “Gears of War 4” release date, fans were also looking forward to a possible trilogy pack release of the first three games. However, the rumors were quickly gunned down by Studio Manager Rod Fergusson in his tweet.
I love the passion, but there’s no Marcus Fenix Collection. We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I’ll see you at E3!

But despite not releasing the “Marcus Fenix Collection,” Black Tusk Studios will most likely release a remastered version of the first “Gears of War” game.
“According to sources close with news outlet Polygon, the first Gears of War game will be getting the remastered treatment, coming back out on the Xbox One. Microsoft, Black Tusk and Epic all haven’t commented on the rumor, so make sure you take it with a grain of salt,” iDigital Times reported.
“Gears of War 4” will be released on Xbox One exclusively.
