Short version, because the clock is the story: the official 1:1 Prototype Lancer Replica sold out its first production run within hours of going live on Thursday August 20, Xbox opened a second wave the same afternoon, and that window closes this Friday, August 28 at 5:00 PM PT 2:00 AM Saturday for anyone reading this in Europe.
The cutover is precise. Orders placed before 1:15 PM PDT on August 20 ship in November 2026. Everything after that, including anything you order today, ships in February 2027, four months after the game launches.
The good news: wave two is made to order
This is the detail that changes how you should think about it. The first wave was a fixed batch and it evaporated. The second wave appears to be built to order, meaning there is no stock counter to race against — the only constraint is the deadline. You are not competing with bots at 5:01 PM on Friday; you either place the order before the window shuts or you do not.
Which also means the resale case is weaker than the sell-out headlines suggest. When supply expands to meet demand for a week, scarcity is a calendar, not a quantity. Anyone planning to flip a February unit will be selling to people who could have ordered one themselves, against sellers who already received theirs in November. Buy it because you want a Lancer on your wall.

It is a bayonet, not a chainsaw
Worth being clear on this, because early coverage got it wrong in both directions. Xbox’s own description settles it: this prototype version of the Lancer carries a bayonet, from before the familiar chainsaw was added.
That is the whole point of the piece. E-Day is set fourteen years before the original game — this is the ancestor of the weapon everyone knows, the rifle as it was on the day the Locust came up, and E-Day is the first time players get to use the bayonet-equipped version in-game. A chainsaw Lancer you can already buy in half a dozen forms. This one has never existed as a replica before.
The confirmed specs
- Price$299.99
- Dimensions36″ L x 14″ H x 8″ W
- Weight6 lbs
- MaterialsABS and PVC
- Included Custom minimalist ABS display stand
- ShipsNovember 2026 (wave 1, closed) /Â February 2027 (wave 2, open until Friday)
The moulds were taken directly from the in-game assets, so every bolt, vent and weld matches what is on screen, and each unit gets a hand-painted battle-worn “E-Day” finish rather than a clean factory look. At 36 inches and six pounds it is full-scale and wall-sized but it is a display piece: it does not fire and nothing on it moves.
Before you order, the parts that catch people out
- North America only. This is the one that will sting for European readers: reporting so far indicates the replica is only being sold in North America, unlike the Collector’s Edition which has a dedicated European storefront. Check the shop’s shipping options before you get attached to the idea.
- One item per order. Nothing else can share the basket, not a Collector’s Edition, not a t-shirt. Checkout will refuse the order until the cart is cleared.
- Pre-orders are not eligible for discounts, and the store charges at checkout, not at dispatch. On a February 2027 delivery that is roughly six months between the money leaving your account and the parcel arriving.
After Friday
Xbox has not announced anything beyond this window. A third wave is plausible given how quickly the second one materialised, but nothing has been said — so treat Friday as the deadline it is stated to be rather than assuming another chance.
